Description
Enmetric Systems has pioneered a unique hardware and software platform, the EM-DDR system, enabling users to monitor and control electrical energy usage of individual devices in homes, offices, campuses and other commercial buildings.
The Enmetric EM-DDR system combines real-time information feedback, device-level control, and dynamic demand response.
The EM-DDR system collects real-time consumption data and controls the loads of devices individually. The data that is collected by the system is presented via a User Interface that is reached through an Internet connection and accessed through a web browser or a smart phone. In addition to displaying device specific and aggregate consumption data, the User Interface allows users to individually and remotely turn devices on or off on a real-time basis and establish rule-based schedules and preferences. The system also includes additional nodes to monitor the overall load at the breaker panel, and for monitoring the status and output of a solar PV system.
The Enmetric EM-DDR system is a solution in both energy efficiency and demand response applications. It enables residential, commercial, and institutional users to reduce their consumption of electricity on a sustained basis. It also enables user-friendly Dynamic Demand Response™ programs. In time-of-use pricing environments, it will lead to even greater savings for consumers by providing enhanced options for load shedding and load shifting.
The unique and important features of the Enmetric EM-DRR system include:
- Device-level, real-time energy use data
- Control of individual devices, either manually or automatically based on schedules or rules
- A user friendly web-based interface providing the users with insight and control on their consumption for each plug load, encouraging long term user engagement
- AMI integration
- Integration with smart thermostats
- Additional nodes that incorporate information from on-site renewable generation and storage systems such as solar, wind, or fuel cells
- Ability to perform Dynamic Demand Response™ duties based on signals transmitted through the web or from Smart Meters while taking account of individual user preferences and rules
- Patent pending device identification technology
