Abstract:
The paper aims to introduce ‘Clean Sky’, the largest European aeronautics research programme that will radically improve the impact of air transport on the environment while strengthening and securing aeronautics industry’s competitiveness. The results of the six ITDs (Integrated technology demonstrators) will lead to a reduction in fuel consumption of the aircraft and consequently to decreases in CO2 emission by 40%, in NO2 emission by 80%, and noise generation by 50% by 2020 (www.Cleansky.eu).
