| Abstract: | The proposed presentation will highlight how this emissions laboratory’s nano-particle-focused awareness is elevated through a marriage of the sciences and arts. This is accomplished by employing innovative architectural and engineering sustainable building concepts into a performance based structure. Set within a clean technology research and development campus (the first of its kind in the nation), the AFVRL project is a culmination of clean technology practice coupled with an appropriately contextual high-tech Adirondack style architecture. The facility houses the states Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Bureau of Mobile Resources and Technology division, allowing their scientists to analyze the transportation sectors emissions standards, translating accurate and repeatable data into, policy. |
