These activities cost governments billions of dollars a year and lead to destabilization. The increasing costs of fuel in the future will only exacerbate this problem and make fuel smuggling and laundering more profitable for criminals. This talk will focus on the use of nanotechnology, particularly microfluidics, to combat fuel smuggling. By employing a micro-fluidic-based solution, a government can increase stabilization and demonstrate good governance which helps attract additional investment into that country.
