Amy Hanada is the JBPHH IEM at NAVFAC HI. She develops energy and water conservation projects for facilities on JBPHH which includes lighting retrofits, energy efficient HVAC systems, cool roof applications, occupancy sensors, and irrigation reduction that encompass multiple facility and utility systems. She is the Navy’s technical expert for energy solutions for multiple commands within JBPHH to reduce energy and water consumption as well as conducting facility energy audits that become the groundwork for further energy efficiency projects, potential renewable energy, and sustainable design projects. Hanada also leads the Energy Awareness Program and the Building Energy Monitor Program which is a requirement of the Commander Navy Region Hawaii (CNRH) Instruction. She is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) with the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and has a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
