Richard Jensen, PhD, PE, is a Senior Member of the Technical Staff (SMTS) at Sandia National Laboratories (SNL). Richard graduated with a BSCE and MSCE from Brigham Young University and a MS in Engineering Mechanics and PhD in Geological Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with an emphasis in computational modeling. He is also a registered professional engineer. He has worked at SNL for 15 years. He is presently working on SNLĀ¹s contribution to the Smart Power Infrastructure Demonstration for Energy, Reliability, and Security (SPIDERS) microgrid project, sponsored by DOD and DOE, and serving as the Assistant Technical Manager for the project. His work involves microgrid assessments(including: rural villages, military, and commercial), and modeling distributed and renewable energy in the distribution and transmission systems.
