Driving the Carbon War Room’s Smart Island Economies Operation, Maya brings together a global team, including world-class experts, to engage with pioneering islands and the private sector to accelerate commercial opportunities for investment in clean energy.
Engaging with islands across the world, Maya is at the forefront of expanding the CWR’s Islands Programme to meet its Ten Island Challenge to accelerate the transition of islands off fossil fuels.
Working with key clients across the public, private and not for profit sector, Maya has delivered a portfolio of projects driving change across huge agenda items--Health & Wellbeing and Sustainable Development.
Key focus areas for Maya are stakeholder engagement, working with and across teams to achieve results for entire organisations and networks, reaching out at a much broader level also to drive and lead on community consultation. Maya’s focus areas include project implementation, driving change and change management, and communications, working with clients to deliver solutions which reflect and build on the innovation and expertise which exists within their organisation.
Prior to her work with the CWR, Maya has worked with clients across the world including the UK National Health Service, independent health care providers and the World Health Organisation.
Having started her career in the media, Maya enjoys demonstrating her communication skills and ability to manage essential engagement. Her broad experience provides a sound understanding of dynamics across stakeholders and organizations, and she is able to recognize the potential of relationships between stakeholders and maximize the opportunities that lie therein. Maya has core experience in community consultation as well as managing a wide range of stakeholder engagement projects, and she identifies this ability to engage as the success of all key operations.
