Mr. Glenn K. Y. Hong, from Honolulu, Hawaii graduated in 1970 from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
In 1991, he moved to Hawaiian Tug & Barge and Young Brothers, Limited (HTB/YB) as Vice-President Finance and Government Affairs before being named President in 1992. HTB/YB provides harbor assist, common carrier inter-island freight transportation, and tug and barge charter services in Hawaii.
Mr. Hong served three years as Board of Governors Chair of the Hawaii Employers Council, 2009-2012. He is on the board of Hawaii Harbors Users Group, a member of the UH Shidler College of Business Advisory Board, a commissioner of the Hawaii State Board of Agriculture, a member of the Hawaii Business Roundtable, and a member of The 200 Club of Honolulu. He was formerly chairman of the Advisory Board of the Hawaii Family Support Center, past and present sponsor of the Tribute to the US Coast Guard Dinner, past president of the U.S. Navy League-Honolulu Council, and past Board member of The Foundation for the Asia Pacific Center for Strategic Studies.
