Halotechnics is developing a 1 MW, 7 MWh electricity storage system that will eliminate wind curtailment on island grids. The system uses high temperature molten salt to store power efficiently and safely. The system stores energy from excess wind power, then provides firm capacity for dispatch when demand is high.
