Since 2004, Mr. Gaynor has been responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day management of First Wind. By the end of 2012, First Wind will have 16 projects with a total operating capacity of 980 MW.
Mr. Gaynor has more than 22 years of experience in the energy field. His experience encompasses leadership and finance roles in the energy, power, and pipeline sectors. Prior to running First Wind, he held positions at Noble Power Assets, LLC (backed by Madison Dearborn Partners and Thomas H. Lee Partners), Singapore Power Group, PSG International, LP (a GE Capital/Bechtel joint venture company), GE Capital, and GE Power Systems.
Mr. Gaynor holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
