Howard Lee leads capital sourcing and funding for Clean Focus. He brings more than 13 years of experience in venture capital and growth equity investing, and more than 20 years of experience in research, development, and marketing. Most recently, Howard was Co-Founder at Founders Equity Partners, a venture secondary fund. Before Founders Equity, he was Executive Director and Co-Head for US Private Equity at CDIB Capital, the private equity arm of CDIB, the largest industrial bank in Taiwan with over $1B in committed capital. Howard established the renewable-energy practice at CDIB Capital and led the venture and growth equity funds and direct investments in the US. Prior to CDIB Capital, Howard was a General Partner at Crystal Ventures, a venture firm that focused on early-stage technology investments in the US and Asia. Prior to Crystal, he was Vice President at global investment firm Crimson Ventures, and he was Co-founder of Volendam Capital Advisors, a family-office investment firm. Howard held management positions at Applied Materials, research roles in electronic materials at the US Army Research Labs, and engineering positions at IBM and Unisys. Howard earned a BS (Highest Honors) and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
