Modular energy storage for curtailed wind in Hawaii

Bright Energy Storage Technologies, LLP
Denver, Colorado, United States

Project Type:Smart Grid/Distribution
Development Status:Early Stage Development (project identified, most permits, financing, partners and contracts required)
Project Size:Pilot Scale-2 ($200k - $2M)
Executive Summary:We are developing a modular energy storage system with cost lower than batteries for storing electrical power for use during peak hours. Such a system reduces the curtailment of wind power, enabling a higher fraction of wind power in Hawaii to be sold during peak hours.
