President and CEO
Cyber Defense Institute, Inc.
Shingo Kobayashi leads Cyber Defense Institute, Inc., a Japanese entity with 30+ engineers, a company which provides penetration test (“pentest”) and cyber security consultation including cyber exercise, digital forensics, and any smart grid cyber security issues. Pentest is a component of security audit which evaluates the security of websites, IT networks, smart phone applications, online games, and any devices including multifunction peripheral (printers). Simply saying, this is an entity which does hackings (White hat hackings) to protect clients and national infrastructure from Black hat hackers, or Crackers.
Shingo Kobayashi was born in Japan, educated at Kwansei Gakuin Univ., then joined Itochu Corporation, one of largest Japanese conglomerate. After spending couple years at corporate planning work including an assignment at Itochu New York office, Shingo moved to a department to follow aerospace business in which he imported military aircraft such as Boeing CH-47 helicopter and 767AWACS, and those components, to Ministry of Defense in Japan.
During his master’s course at Stanford Graduate School of Business in US, he served faithfully to make a concept and launch a low cost airline in Republic of Colombia. In addition to this master’s program, he also completed another two courses, Public Management Program, and Global Management Program.
He lived in US for 8 years in total, and in Indonesia for 2 years. He is married and has two young children who delightfully occupy most of his time. He is a big fan of Hanshin Tigers, the best professional baseball team ever in Japan, and have joggings and play golf if he finds his own time, by luck.
