Pacific Biodiesel, Inc.
Pacific Biodiesel, Inc. was launched by Robert King in 1996 in response to serious environmental and health concerns surrounding unmanageable quantities of used cooking oil at the Central Maui Landfill. Then owner of a local diesel repair business that maintained the landfill’s generators, Bob proposed converting the waste into biodiesel that would fuel the generators. He turned his idea into reality with Pacific Biodiesel’s original small-scale plant at the Central Maui Landfill. That was just the beginning. Pacific Biodiesel has since developed and built 12 sustainable community-based plants in the U.S. and Japan, including those on Maui and Oahu, with a third on Hawaii Island due to open before the end of the year. Known as a renewable energy leader by local, national and international organizations, Bob King's Pacific Biodiesel continues to produce and sell quality fuel throughout the state.
