Kasumi Yasukawa is a Senior Scientist at the Institute for GeoResorces and Environment, 
Natioanl Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan. Her main interest areas are numerical modeling of geothermal reservoirs, introducing electro-kinetic parameters (resistivity, streaming potential). She is also interested in geothermal heat pump application. Dr. Yasukawa served as project leader for the "Development of an advanced geothermal reseroir management system for the harmonious utilization with hot spring resources."

Her previous work experience includes serving as a Senior Scientist at Geological Survey of Japan, and Deputy Director, Environmental Policy Department, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan.

Dr. Yasukawa received a Bachelor in Engineering from The University of Tokyo, Master of Science in Mineral Engineering from University of California at Berkeley, and Ph.D in engineering from The University of Kyushu. She has authored or co-authored dozens of research papers, and is a member of the Interational Geothermal Association and Geothermal Society Japan.
