Brad Rockwell is Production Manager for Kaua`i Island Utility Cooperative (KIUC). In his current position, he is responsible for operations and maintenance of 117 MW of gas, steam, diesel, and hydro generators which provide the bulk of electricity for Kaua`i. In addition, he is intimately involved in negotiation, engineering review, and management of solar, biomass, and hydro purchased power contracts aimed at reaching KIUC's strategic goal of 50% supply-side renewables by 2023. Mr. Rockwell has 14 years experience in power generation, ranging from OEM (Solar Turbines and General Electric), IPP (Kaua`i Power Partners), and utilities (KIUC). Prior to that he was on active duty in the U.S. Navy, and continues to serve as a Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Mr. Rockwell holds a B.S. in Marine Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Hawaii, and has represented KIUC on the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative since it's inception.
