At the State Energy Office, Mark Glick has oversight over a $9.5 million Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant and is managing 9 projects under the grant totaling $6.3 million. Glick also provides support to the Hawai`i Economic Development Task Force created by The Food and Energy Security Act 73(10) and is the principal author of the Task Force’s Report to the 2011 Hawai`i Legislature.

As senior advisor to the Texas Land Commissioner from 1987 to 1991, Glick played a decisive role in passage of landmark amendments to the Texas Clean Air Act and similar provisions in the federal Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. For the next decade, Glick was a successful small business owner securing contracts and grants for clean fuel and emissions reductions projects with the U.S. Department of Energy, the Gas Research Institute, Southern California Gas Company, Pacific Gas & Electric and the New York City Department of Transportation, Petrobangla, Natural Fuels Corp. and Transco.

Returning to the public sector in 2003, Glick headed operations and economic development for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs from 2003 to 2010 leading changes to the agency’s 17-year old low-interest financing program and establishing the Hawai`i Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Pacific Network TV, and OHA's annual Hawaiian Business Conference & Economic Expo. Glick joined DBEDT in July of 2010.
