Dr. Elgowainy is a Principal Energy Systems Analyst with the Argonne National Laboratory’s Center for Transportation Research. He conducts energy and emissions analysis of alternative transportation fuels and advanced vehicle technologies. He contributed to the development of the GREET model for well-to-wheels accounting of energy and emissions of alternative fuel/vehicle systems. He is also the lead developer of the DOE’s hydrogen delivery scenario analysis model for characterizing cost, energy use, and emissions associated with hydrogen delivery infrastructure options. In this role, Dr. Elgowainy provides project and technical support for the Department of Energy’s Fuel Cell Technology and Vehicle Technology programs in the area of life cycle analysis as related to energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. He has been affiliated with Argonne National Laboratory for 10 years. He authored over 50 papers and technical publications.
