Director of Renewable Energy, Pacific
William Kucharski is a graduate of the US Coast Guard Academy, and has MS degrees from the University of Michigan in both Chemical Engineering and Civil Engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer (Wisconsin-1979) and has worked in the Environmental field for over 30 years. Before joining AECOM he lived in Kuwait for six (6) years and managed the environmental claims of Kuwait again Iraq for the damages done during the 1990-1991 Iraq invasion. As a result of the data collection, evaluation and presentations before the United Nations Compensation Commission in Geneva, Kuwait was awarded $3 Billion to remediate the damages for the Iraqi invasion. He has served as the Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, has lived and worked in Germany, managed the environmental engineering group for a large NW electric utility and is a Charter member of the Environmental Council of the States (ECOS), a “state agency only” environmental management organization. In his current position with AECOM, he is managing the EIS for DBEDT for the Hawaii interisland renewable energy program (HIREP). He is also supporting Biofuels development and solar production for clients in Hawaii.
He is married (35 years), two children, and 3 grandchildren.
