Michael Trovato is the State of Hawaii Government Sales Director responsible for business development of energy management and energy conservation services. In this capacity his responsibilities include energy solution sales utilizing Performance Contracting. His expertise in energy and business management provides a unique understanding of the technological and economic trends affecting government facility issues, helping to ensure a collaborative partnership and successful project.

Michael has covered State government in sales, sales management and as a consultant for 25 years. He has called on key legislators, Governor’s staff and agency as well as department heads on a myriad of business and technical issues. He possesses a strong understanding of the state’s infrastructure, budget process and is intimately familiar with the role of both DAGS and DBEDT as it relates to energy conservation within the State of Hawaii.

In addition Michael has years of experience as an Account Manager responsible for customer satisfaction for all projects entered in to by the State. In this role he has been responsible for the successful implementation of many significant large (millions of dollars) State projects. He is extremely capable of balancing his company’s needs while also maintaining an excellent relationship with his client with the goal of always exceeding their satisfaction on any project the State undertakes.

Lastly, Michael before joining Johnson Controls spent many years with IBM and currently brings a unique and valuable skill set to his customers on any energy related project, i.e., the ability to incorporate information technology innovation in to the overall solution. As the convergence of information technology and energy management technology evolve this skill will become more and more important.

Michael holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from California State University Los Angeles.
