Douglas A. Codiga is an energy and environmental attorney who regularly advises businesses, landowners, and community organizations in a wide range of environmental matters, with an emphasis on emerging clean energy, climate change, and green building law and policy. In 2007, he founded Hawaii’s first Climate and Sustainability Law Practice Group at the law firm of Schlack Ito Lockwood Piper & Elkind, LLC. Representative clients include Blue Planet Foundation, Honolulu Seawater Air Conditioning, LLC, the University of Hawaii, and green building and renewable energy developers. Mr. Codiga frequently publishes and lectures on clean energy, climate change, and environmental law and policy. His presentations include guest lectures at leading conferences and law schools in Singapore, China and Japan, and publications include feature articles in the Hawaii Bar Journal on Hawaii climate change, clean energy, and green building laws and policies. He is an affiliate of the U.S. Sea Grant Center for Island Climate Adaptation and Policy has taught International Environmental Law and other environmental law courses as Adjunct Professor of at the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law since 1996.
