Asia Yeary is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 9 grant project officer and a liaison for sustainability work with Hawaii. For the last two years, Asia has been working in collaboration with federal, state and local governments, businesses and nonprofits in an effort to bring more federal grant money into the state for sustainable water, waste water, waste, transportation, energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. Asia is passionate about her work and about working with people. Asia recently moved to EPA's Honolulu office. While in Hawaii, Asia will continue her grants work, support important sustainability policies and programs, share national environmental policy and program updates, and help expand the sustainability internship programs within the University of Hawaii and Community College System. Asia Yeary received her B.S. in Environmental Science and her B.A. in Public Policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She can be reached at
