Jeff Bloom

STEM Workforce Development Program Consultant

Jeff has lived and worked in Hawaii for over 25 years. His career includes owning and managing a Honolulu-based technology company for 20 years, CTA Solutions. After selling CTA Solutions in 2006, Jeff joined The University of Hawaii System as the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Workforce Development Program Coordinator supporting a National Science Foundation Grant. Most recently, he has been project manager overseeing a STEM grant from the National Governor’s Association to support STEM education efforts in Hawaii.

During his career he has been actively involved in workforce development/education initiatives and community service programs aimed at Hawaii’s youth.

Jeff’s passion is mentoring and nurturing young people with an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. He has donated countless hours working with public, private and Charter school students as well as college students across the state. He is the co-founder and past chairman of HiTech Quest, a non-profit organization created in 1998 to identify, mentor, and provide scholarships to Hawaii students. Jeff is also the State Coordinator for the Real World Design Challenge an annual competition that provides high school students, grades 9–12, with the opportunity to work on real world engineering challenges in a team environment. http://www.realworlddesignchallenge.org

Bloom is very active in the local community. Jeff has been elected to the Board of Directors for many organizations including the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii, Enterprise Honolulu, Maryknoll High School, and AFCEA Hawaii. He was appointed by Governors Cayatano and Lingle to represent the business community on the State Workforce Development Council.
