Chris Hostetter is group vice president, advanced product strategy & product planning for Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc. Hostetter oversees the development of new concepts and strategies for future Toyota and Lexus vehicles. Since beginning his career at Toyota in 1984, Hostetter has held several positions in product and strategic planning. Recently, he was corporate manager, strategic planning overseeing long-range planning (Genesis, Mexico), pricing, market research, and environmental vehicles. Before joining Toyota, Hostetter worked for Bechtel, Chevron Research, Stanford Research Institute, and Ford Motor Co. in advanced product planning. Hostetter graduated with bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and he also earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago in the new products laboratory. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Analysts, the Society of Automotive Engineers, American Marketing Association and the Futurist Society.
