Walter Riddlehoover assumed the Defense Logistics Agency Energy Pacific Deputy Director position in July 2001. He served as Deputy Commander, DLA Energy Korea from September 1997 until July 2001. He was the first civilian deputy in both offices.

From August 1993 until September 1997, Riddlehoover served as the Director, Fuel Department, Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Yokosuka, Japan. During this period he was given the lead in reorganizing FISC Yokosuka to meet the NAVSUP template for all FISC operations. Prior to the Yokosuka tour, Riddlehoover served as Director, Fuel Division, FISC Yokosuka Detachment, Sasebo, Japan from January 1993 to August 1993.

From May 1988 to November 1992, Riddlehoover served as Deputy Director and then Director, Fuel Department, Naval Supply Depot, Subic Bay, Republic of the Philippines. This tour included WESTPAC support of the Gulf War, recovery from the Mt. Pinatubo eruption and the closure of the Subic Bay complex. Riddlehoover remained in Subic for two months after closure to oversee the operation of the fuel facilities for the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority until the organization was able to lease the facilities to a commercial firm.

Riddlehoover served as Director, Fuel Division, Naval Air Station, Bermuda from August 1983 to May 1988, and Quality Assurance Representative from July 1982 to July 1983.

He joined the Federal Civil Service in 1973 and until 1982 served in various positions within the Material and Fuel Departments at the Naval Supply Center, Norfolk, Va.
