XG Sciences makes a new type of nanomaterial that we call xGnP® Graphene Nanoplatelets. This material consists of particles that are short stacks of graphene just a few nanometers thick and with diameters of up to 50 microns. We make different grades of material with surface areas ranging from 50 to 800 m2/g. Because of graphene’s high electrical and thermal conductivity, stiffness, strength and stability, there are many applications in areas ranging from advanced composite materials to better electrodes for batteries and capacitors.
Specific applications for our materials include conductive coatings and inks, EMI/RFI shielding through films or composites, improved electrodes for batteries and ultracapacitors, better electrocatalysts and bipolar plates for fuel cells, high-barrier films, and bio-degradable plastics for packaging.
