Sha-Chelle Manning
Sha-Chelle Devlin Manning is an American change agent for nanotechnology, paving the way for emerging technology commercialization at the university, company, state, federal, and international level.
She joined NanoHoldings in 2008 as Managing Director driving commercialization efforts to harness the talent of some of the best scientists and universities towards solving energy efficiency challenges. Previously, she was a Vice President at Authentix. Authentix was subsequently acquired by the Carylye Group, which is the largest nanotech exit to date.
In 2005, Sha-Chelle served as a consultant to the Office of the Governor of the State of Texas where she led the development of the Texas nanotechnology strategic plan, including a $30 Million fund through the Texas Emerging Technology Fund (ETF) to attract top talent researchers in nanotechnology, multiple emerging technology commercialization awards to private startups in the energy, medical, and defense space, and federal awards/programs with NIST, DARPA, DOD, and NASA. Between her work with federal agencies, congressional alliances, and Texas’ $200 Million Emerging Technology Fund, she has assisted in securing an additional $200+ Million in emerging technology research and commercialization investments, mainly in Texas.
She was previously a Director of Business and Government Development at Zyvex Corporation, where she helped bring to market some of the very first advanced technology applications enabled by nanotechnology, and secured and led several key R&D industry and government programs in nanomaterials, micro, and nanoassembly and helped drive emerging technology policy efforts.
She is on the Board of Directors of Astrotech, a public aerospace company specializing in space exploration; The North Texas Alliance for Higher Education’s Regional Center for Commercialization & Innovation, Innovate Texas Foundation; is an advisor with Laurus Partners/Texas A&M System and HRL; and co-founder of The Virtual Wall, one of several online sites honoring soldiers who fought in Vietnam.
Sha-Chelle graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa with a BA in English and Communications and an MBA in Telecommunications from the University of Dallas.
