Mr. Vello A. Kuuskraa, President of Advanced Resources, is internationally recognized for his work in energy economics, supply modeling, and new oil and gas recovery technologies. He served on the Secretary of Energy's Natural Gas Supply Task Force as lead expert on Natural Gas and Coalbed Methane on Trade Missions to China, India and South Africa. He was a member of the National Academy of Sciences Study Committee for defining the National Energy Modeling System, and testified before FERC on the outlook for natural gas supplies. He was the author of the Chapter on Unconventional Gas Resources in the Encyclopedia of Energy and is currently the 2007 SPE Distinguished Lecturer on the topic of “Integrating CO2-EOR and CO2 Sequestration”. He serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the CO2 Capture Project involving 8 major oil companies and three governments. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Southwestern Energy Corp. and is a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor that recognizes contributions made by individuals from America’s diverse cultural ancestry. He holds a M.B.A., from the Wharton Graduate School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.S., in Applied Mathematics/ Economics from North Carolina State University.
