Monika Willert-Porada

Professor in Materials Processing
Universität Bayreuth, Germany

Dr. Monika Willert-Porada is a Professor in Materials Processing at the University of Bayreuth, Bavaria, Germany. Dr. Willert-Porada’s research focuses on development of new processes, by implementation of new sources of electrical energy, like e.g., laser and microwave radiation as well as different types of plasma’s into processing of materials with the aim at selective heating, low temperature processing and synthesis of materials for energy conversion. Her teaching focuses on environmental aspects of raw materials synthesis as well as on high quality materials for batteries, fuel cells and PV systems.

Dr. Willert-Porada has co-authored in excess of 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. She is engaged in science advisory boards of local and national laboratories. She is Founder and since 1997 President of InVerTec, an independent research institute working in close collaboration with the University of Bayreuth on the development of sustainable and energy efficient processes for production of key raw materials, like e.g. high purity Si, nanoscaled oxides for photocatalysis and TCO’s for powder based coatings. Another activity of InVerTec is utilisation of new technologies for recycling of valuable polymers and catalyst metals. Dr. Willert-Porada is further engaged as Coordinator of an interdisciplinary research institute located at the University of Bayreuth and devoted to R&D for Glass Manufacturing & Coating.
