Julie Hendricks


Julie Hendricks is an Environmental Specialist working in the Kirksey Center for Sustainable Architecture. At the Kirksey Center, she is a researcher, educator, and consultant for green building and LEED strategies. She has worked on LEED green building projects totally nearly 7 million square feet, including the first LEED for Existing Buildings certified building in Texas, the first LEED for Core and Shell building in Houston, and the first LEED for Commercial Interiors space in Houston. She also co-authored the Kirksey Guide to a Green Facility, a working handbook for building owners and facilities managers, and created an extensive website of green building tools available at for use by Kirksey architects and the general public. Julie is a registered architect with twelve years of experience in diverse project types including commercial offices, universities libraries and student centers, and non-profit community centers. She is a Board Member with the Houston chapter of the US Green Building Council and Board Chair of the Citizens Environmental Coalition. Julie has taught numerous environmentally-focused architectural design studios at Prairie View A&M University and at the Boston Architectural Center. She received her M. Arch at the University of Texas at Austin, and BA from the University of Chicago.
