Forty executives representing the clean technology entrepreneurial and implementation community are planning to participate in high-level government meetings.
Cambridge MA – March 10, 2009: CTSI, the Clean Technology and Sustainable Industries Organization, today announced that more than forty executives representing the clean technology entrepreneurial and implementation community are planning to participate in high-level government meetings, as part of the Clean Technology and Sustainable Industries Organization annual policy tour, taking place March 25-26, in Washington DC.

The 2009 coalition represents clean technology companies and investors working to commercialize smart grid, solar, bioenergy, energy efficiency, carbon sequestration, water, and building/construction technologies. This year’s tour will focus on helping clean technology companies benefit from the stimulus package; discuss ways to increase government/industry collaboration to address current market challenges (capital, credit, policy); and it will promote programs that help grow clean tech markets long-term.

Executives on the tour will have the opportunity to meet with Representatives, Senators, Hill staff and officials at the Department of Energy. This year’s tour comes at a critical time during the economic recession, which is putting significant strain on the innovative companies working on clean energy and infrastructure solutions. As part of its cleanConnect program, CTSI is assisting small businesses in the sector by offering this tour free of charge to qualified participants.

Policy tour participants will provide first-hand examples of how clean technology companies can add to the economic recovery with green jobs, local manufacturing, and measurable return-on-investment for their customers. This year’s tour will also feature an early evening reception on Capital Hill in the offices of the House Science & Technology Committee.

Results of the policy tour will be discussed at the CTSI Executive Roundtable, being held May 4th at the annual Clean Technology conference in Houston, Texas. For more information on this event, please visit:

K&L Gates, an international law firm and one of Washington DC’s largest lobbying organizations, is the key sponsor the tour. Members of the firm’s emerging technologies practice will assist with meeting scheduling, messaging, and lobbying education for tour participants.
