In CIGS production molybdenum (Mo) foils or Mo metalized glass substrates are typically used as the back contact. Mo is used due to its adhesion and low contact resistance with CIGS material. These materials are created by expensive and time consuming physical vapor deposition (PVD) processes. This presentation will discuss the creation of Mo back contacts for CIGS-PV from Mo nanoparticle inks to enable a simpler less expensive manufacturing process.
