Effects of specimen size and geometry on dispersion quality and properties of single-walled carbon nanotube/epoxy composite films

Abstract:

A combination of imaging techniques as well as mechanical, thermal and electrical characterization is used to evaluate the quality of dispersion within nanocomposite films. Results from optical and scanning electron microscopy clearly demonstrate that SWCNT dispersion significantly deteriorates as lateral dimensions increase.
