Abstract:
Abstract: Biomass energy suffers from two limiting factors: low net-energy yield and limited carbon uptake. Conventional approaches lose considerable amounts of both energy and carbon in conversion, both in the production of fuel and at the point of use. Loss of carbon in conversions also limits or eliminates the possibility of sequestration. The best biomass frameworks will use the most efficient chemical processes and energy converters (end-to-end), while capturing and recycling carbon until it is either converted to product or sequestered. An optimised biomass framework has the potential to completely replace fossil motor and electric generation fuels. (Please note that the PDF is incomplete due to tax preparation pressures)
