Abstract:
In late 2006, the province of Ontario (Canada) introduced its Standard Offer Program to encourage the development of wind, solar, water power and bio-mass generation projects. This program is the largest of its kind in North America and is expected to add 1,000 megawatts of clean energy to Ontario’s grid over the next ten years. On February 27, 2007, 22 power purchase contracts were awarded under the program, representing a capital investment of $336 million (CAD). This presentation will give U.S. investors and developers the information necessary to consider investment renewable energy opportunities in Ontario.
